Laurie fell in love with Nature’s Educators the moment she came face to face with a kestrel, and she jumped at the chance to become involved with the organization by serving on the Board. Laurie’s history as an ornithophile goes way back. As a photographer, Laurie’s fondest bird moments have been photographing European bee eaters and hoopoes in Iraq, puffins in Iceland, magnificent frigatebirds in Costa Rica, and a leucistic robin in Aurora. Laurie’s other interests include hiking/backpacking, gardening, geocaching, road trips, attending to her houseful of pets and assorted feral cats, and running her own business, Fremont360.
